Georgia Barber, District Governor

Lion Georgia Barber became a member of the Leesburg Lions Club in 1996. She has served her club as president, secretary, and member of the Board of Directors. She served as chairman of many of the club’s service projects and fundraisers. In her service to the District, Lion Georgia was Zone 3 chairman for two years in 2006-2008. She served on the District Cabinet since 1997 as representative to LCIF, Youth Committee, and District Newsletter Editor.

Lion Georgia has received the 100% Secretary Award, four Council of Governor’s Award of Merit, a Council Chairman’s Award of Excellence, a District Governor’s Appreciation Award, two International Certificate of Appreciation, a Betty Coffey Fellow and Membership Awards. Lion Georgia has sponsored five new Lions.

She has attended seven (7) International Conventions and seven (7) USA/Canadian Lions Leadership Forms.
Lion Georgia retired in 2002 from the Ohio Department of Health Regulatory Division. She served many years in the medical field as an EMT, an LPN, and as a Registered Nurse. She is a graduate of McClain HS, Fayette School of Practical Nursing and Southern State Community College.

She and her sponsor, mentor and partner-in-service, PCC/PDG Ron were married in 1958. They are the parents of five children, eleven grand children and six great grand children.
